Founded in 1866, Paul Roos Gymnasium is a public dual-medium high school for boys, located in Stellenbosch, Western Cape, South Africa. Recognized as a top performer in school rugby, the school is hosting this year's renowned North-South School Rugby Tournament at the Markötter Sports Grounds.
The Markötter Rugby Field is illuminated by our locally designed and manufactured OMNIBLAST-E MAXI LED floodlights, seamlessly managed through the Schréder ITERRA wireless control solution.

Smart Rugby Field Lighting
Our LED floodlight, the OMNIBLAST-2-E MAXI, illuminates the Markötter Rugby Field and Practice B field. This product was chosen for its energy-efficiency whilst achieving the required 300lux levels. Integrated with the Schréder ITERRA lighting control system, the school is able to control the lighting even from a remote location, enabling them to entertain their supporters with a spectacular light show whilst supporting their team.
The OMNIBLAST-E floodlight, offered in both MIDI and MAXI variants, is the ideal tool for sports venues and other very large area applications that require a lighting solution with the highest efficiency and flexibility to adapt to the different lighting needs. The floodlight range meets various lighting applications, ranging from general area lighting to recreational sports lighting up to professional broadcasting requirements. The OMNIBLAST-E MAXI incorporates a patented cooling technology that maximises its lifespan and lumen output.
Schréder ITERRA provides a complete user- and installer-friendly wireless control solution for sports lighting applications. It offers site managers a robust, cost-effective and futureproof platform to run their infrastructure with the utmost flexibility for adapting the lighting to any scenario or event while maximising energy savings and providing the best experience for players, fans and the neighbourhood. A mobile App based system, Schréder ITERRA is very easy to operate. It comes with an intuitive visual interface that users can quickly personalise to the layout and settings of their lighting installation.
