Smart sports floodlighting solution for a new Astro Hockey field
We supplied the smart lighting solution for Hoërskool Marais Viljoen High School’s new Astro Hockey field in Alberton, Gauteng province.
Hoërskool Marais Viljoen High School, a public parallel medium co-educational high school located in Alberton, Gauteng, South Africa, recently added an AstroTurf hockey field to its facilities. We are proud to have supplied the smart sports lighting solution, consisting of the OMNIBLAST-2-E MAXI LED floodlights controlled by the Schréder ITERRA sports lighting control solution.
The floodlights were selected for their superior performance in meeting the required light levels, as well as their durability and long lifespan. An additional advantage is that they are locally designed and manufactured in South Africa, specifically engineered to withstand the continent’s harsh environmental conditions. This ensures extended longevity, backed by a 5-year warranty and reliable after-sales support.

Astro Hockey Field Lighting
Our LED floodlight, the OMNIBLAST-2-E MAXI, illuminates the Astro Hockey field. This product was chosen to achieve the required 350 lux level. Integrated with the Schréder ITERRA lighting control system, the school is able to entertain their supporters with a spectacular light show whilst supporting their team.
